Leeds United's best attacking hope in Premier League relegation fight revealed

Leeds United's Jack Harrison has emerged as the Whites best attacking hope for their battle against relegation from the Premier League, with the 26-year-old creating the most chances per 90 minutes for Javi Gracia's side in the top-flight this season.

If things had played out differently, Harrison could be lining up as a Leicester City player for the remainder of the season. An 11th-hour deal for a potential move to the Foxes collapsed, as he was quickly whisked back to West Yorkshire.

Talks of Leeds agreeing a new deal for Harrison have quietened down of late and with the attacking midfielder out of contract at the end of next season, the club need to make a decision over his future soon. The former New York City star has shown his quality in glimpses so far this campaign - a stunning strike against Accrington Stanley in the fourth round of the FA Cup stands out as a recent highlight.

It was Harrison's flick against Southampton that set up Junior Firpo to score the winning goal last weekend, yet in truth the Leeds man has been somewhat off the pace in recent weeks. However, he has shown his quality beyond the games against the Saints and Everton - as he leads the way for the most chances created per 90 among the squad.

Harrison has so far created 36 goalscoring chances for the Whites this term, carving out 2.04 opportunities on average per match for his team. Brenden Aaronson ranks second for Leeds, with 33 chances at an average of 1.72 created per 90 this term.

Outside of the teams in the 'traditional big-six', Newcastle United's Kieran Tripper leads the way with 3.12 chances created per 90, followed by Leicester City's James Maddison (2.50 per 90) and Crystal Palace's Michael Olise (2.33 per 90).

If Harrison can click into gear ahead of the run-in, the statistics show he is more than capable of being a vital part of Leeds' creative and attacking output in their bid to avoid relegation from the Premier League.
