Ruben Selles says it will be "difficult" to keep Southampton in the Premier League, but insists his side will "fight until the very last point".
Southampton suffered a record-breaking 11th home league defeat of the season as Marcus Tavernier's strike five minutes after the restart inspired Bournemouth to victory.
Saints remain at the foot of the Premier League table and are six points adrift of safety with five games remaining. Difficult tests in the shape of Newcastle, Fulham, Brighton and Liverpool await them in their final five games, and the possibility of a late rescue mission looks extremely unlikely.

Leeds United defeated Southampton 1-0 at Elland Road in Javi Gracia's debut in February, and their inability to pick up results against their closest rivals in the table has been a major issue for Southampton.
Nevertheless, Selles is not willing to accept defeat, regardless of how difficult the task in hand may be.
“Well as I say always we are going to go and try to put a performance in every game to try to win and we are going to do it until the very end," Selles told reporters after the game.
"I know it’s only five games to play. But we have a game in three days. And what we need to do is just quickly go and try to get the very best of it.
"You cannot do anything different. We are professionals and as I say in the very beginning we will fight until the very last point and I know that it's hard and the table is looking like it's a difficult one but we're going to try.”
