Manchester United shift focus from Kalvin Phillips
A new defensive midfielder is said to be top of Manchester United's shopping list for this summer and last week, Manchester Evening News reported that a deal was being worked on to tempt Leeds United's homegrown favourite, Kalvin Phillips. However, it now appears that officials have accepted that a deal for Phillips will prove too difficult and they have identified other targets.
According to ESPN, Monaco's Auerelin Tchouameni is emerging as the top target, rather than Phillips. Erik ten Hag is expected to take on the role of Manchester United manager in the summer and the Ajax man is said to have a preference for the young Frenchman.
