That is according to 61trabzonhaber.com, who claim Marsch accepted an offer from the Turkish outfit and requested an annual salary of €4 million (£3.6m) per year.

Trabzonspor reportedly informed Marsch that they could not afford the figure requested, and talks have now ended between both parties.

Marsch has been out of work since he was sacked by Leeds in February. He has turned down offers from Premier League rivals Southampton, and most recently Leicester City, since his Elland Road departure.

The former Red Bull Salzburg and RB Leipzig manager spent 11 months at Leeds, and guided them to Premier League safety during his first season at the helm.

However, Leeds had gone seven games without a league win prior to his sacking, and were only separated from the relegation zone on goal difference.

Liverpool clean sheet claim made as Leeds United tipped to struggle against Jurgen Klopp's side

Leeds will take on Liverpool on Monday night as they continue their bid for Premier League survival.

Leeds suffered that embarrassing defeat to Crystal Palace last week and will be desperate to make amends on Monday night. With a third successive home game, Javi Gracia will be looking to get a result against the Reds to increase the two-point gap they have over the bottom three.

Liverpool are on a disappointing run of form having failed to win in any of their last four Premier League fixtures. However, they will be encouraged by the return of Luiz Diaz from injury and Jurgen Klopp will be keen to stop the rot with three points against the Whites.

Speaking on The Overlap, the ex-Manchester United man has not been impressed with the poor standards at several Premier League clubs such as Leeds United, Everton, Wolves and Nottingham Forest to name a few.

Leeds are hovering just outside the bottom three with two points between themselves and Forest in 18th. The Whites are coming off the back of a disappointing 5-1 defeat to Crystal Palace and look in real danger of dropping back down to the second division.
