Leeds United news as Brighton's Solly March issues 'frustrating' verdict on Jack Harrison equaliser

Here are your latest Leeds United morning headlines for Sunday, March 12.

Brighton winger Solly March issues 'frustrating' verdict on Jack Harrison's equaliser

Solly March believes Jack Harrison's equaliser for Leeds United in their 2-2 draw against Brighton shouldn't have stood because there were two balls on the pitch.

Gnonto played the corner short to Harrison before flicking a second ball off the pitch. Harrison then cut inside to find the far top corner with an incredible strike.

Leeds dropped to 19th place despite earning a point, but March says it was 'frustrating' that the referee hadn't blown up prior to Harrison's equaliser.

"I saw something. I thought the referee would blow [his whistle]. I haven't spoken to the other lads about whether it affected them or not, we will have to see. With two balls on the pitch and the corner taker touching the ball with his hand, it is frustrating not to stop the game and blow up really," said March.

"I didn't know the rules to be honest. If the guy [Gnonto] has handled one of the balls and flicked it off, surely that is interfering. I don't know, I will have to look at it and see what happens."

Leeds United survival rests on Javi Gracia's ability to find what they've missed all season long

A point when they needed three

Bournemouth took their opportunity to throw down the gauntlet before their relegation rivals could even kick a ball in anger over the weekend. The Cherries set alarm bells ringing last week at Arsenal, going within a few seconds of holding the league leaders at the Emirates Stadium, and seemingly that gave them the confidence to take the game to Liverpool at the Vitality Stadium and secure a result very few saw coming.

Gary O’Neil’s side won 1-0 on the south coast to breathe fresh life into their hopes of survival. That meant Leeds were in the bottom three once more when they kicked off against Brighton and Hove Albion and they knew they needed to produce a response.

To make matters worse for the Whites, Everton hit the front against Brentford after just 35 seconds and they managed to cling onto that lead for the entire 90 minutes at Goodison Park. That meant Leeds would have needed a win to avoid finishing the day in 19th and they could now end the weekend propping up the division, if Southampton can pull off another shock against Manchester United.

Give us your Leeds United player ratings after Harrison and Bamford score in 2-2 Brighton draw

Leeds United came from behind twice to claim a 2-2 draw with Brighton at Elland Road in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Goals from Patrick Bamford and Jack Harrison saw Javi Gracia's side share the points with Brighton during a thrilling game in West Yorkshire. Alexis Mac Allister's goal after the half-hour mark looked set to prepare fans for what would be a miserable afternoon as he headed home completely unmarked at the far post.

Bamford's superb effort, albeit ever-so-slightly deflected, would soon claw. some momentum back for Leeds just before half-time. Despite Harrison being forced to turn the ball into his own net under pressure from Solly March, the former New York City man would have the last laugh he curled home a sumptuous effort from a Wilfried Gnonto short corner just 12 minutes from time.
