Leeds United news as Brendan Rodgers breaks silence on Jack Harrison Leicester City speculation

A look at the latest Leeds United headlines on Thursday, 26 January.

Brendan Rodgers keeps lips sealed over Jack Harrison links

Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers was in front of the media today on his 50th birthday and the subject of recent links with Leeds United winger Jack Harrison soon name up.

Rodgers told Sky Sports: "The club are great. They're very good at recognising when you get to points in your life, listen, I'm privileged to reach 50 and grow old. I think for all of us in life, there's some people who are never fortunate to grow old, so it's not something I'm scared of.

"It's something to be cherished so hopefully I can continue to get the birthdays."

When asked if he asked for any birthday signings, amid links to Leeds United's Jack Harrison, he added: "No, that took a little while that. Was that Sky in your ear?

"Listen, I just wish for good health and make 51. That was it. Listen, the club are working very hard behind the scenes to try and give the club, or team, that boost that it needs and we would like.

"Apart from that, my focus is on preparing the team."

Jesse Marsch reveals fresh Leeds United injury doubt for Accrington Stanley FA Cup trip

Jesse Marsch says Leeds United will make a late call on Liam Cooper and Tyler Adams with the pair both doubts for the FA Cup clash with Accrington Stanley on Saturday lunchtime. The Whites head coach says he feels the injuries picked up by the pair are not severe and will give both a chance to prove their fitness against the League One side.

Leeds will be without Adam Forshaw, Archie Gray, Stuart Dallas and Crysencio Summerville for the tie against John Coleman's side. The latter of the quartet is back training, but is yet to return to first-team training after picking up an ankle injury in a tackle against Cardiff City.

Marsch said: "A few things, so, Adam [Forshaw] and Archie [Gray] are still out. Archie has been active on the pitch, Adam is feeling better. Cree Summerville is on the pitch but not yet training with the team. He should be in team training and be available for next weekend, so that's a bonus."

Pick your Leeds United XI for Brentford clash as Jesse Marsch considers Georginio Rutter debut

Jesse Marsch has admitted there's a high probability new Leeds United signing Georginio Rutter will start against Accrington Stanley this weekend. The Whites new arrival is yet to feature since making his move to Elland Road earlier this month.

The £35million arrival has impressed Marsch with his tactical knowledge and how quickly the French striker has taken on board the ideas presented to him. The Whites boss has also hinted at some rotation when they travel to Accrington this weekend, hinting that Rodrigo could be in line for a rest, having been one of the standout performers this season.

The Leeds United boss has stressed the importance of a good cup run, but remains wary of the potential banana skin that lays ahead in the shape of the League One outfit. Tyler Adams and Liam Cooper will face late fitness tests to see whether feature against Accrington.

Jesse Marsch outlines Leeds United challenge for Cody Drameh as he confirms Luton Town loan

Jesse Marsch has confirmed Leeds United defender Cody Drameh will join Championship side Luton Town on loan for the rest of the season. The young full-back has been knocking on the door of the first-team but has seen his game time limited to just three games so far this season.

The Whites youngster is viewed as the future right-back at Elland Road, having impressed in the Leeds youth set-up. The 21-year-old spent last season on loan with Cardiff City and attracted plenty of praise during his time in South Wales.

Drameh played 22 games for the Bluebirds, joining on loan in January 2022. The England youth international was named as the Welsh side's Young Player of the Season and Player of the Season for 2021–22.

Every word Jesse Marsch said on Drameh, Rutter, Harrison and Leeds United's FA Cup target

Marsch starts with an injury update…

A few things. So Adam, Archie are still out but Archie has been active on the pitch, Adam is feeling better. Cree Summerville is on the pitch but not yet training with the team but he should be in team training by next week and be available for next weekend. So that's a bonus. Stuart Dallas, still injured.

Coops is a little bit questionable still and Tyler Adams is a little bit questionable for this weekend. So we'll see, it’ll be more of a matchday decision with them. The last one is Cody Drameh, I think there'll be an announcement about his loan later today.

On that last one, Luton Town we think?

Yes.

Mixed emotions for Leeds United supporters as Marcelo Bielsa 'flies in' for Everton talks

Leeds United supporters have mixed emotions as former Whites boss Marcelo Bielsa flies in for talks with Everton. The Toffees parted company with Frank Lampard last week and the Argentinian head coach is among the favourites to take over at Goodison Park.

The Whites legend, who helped win promotion back to the Premier League, has been out of a job since leaving Elland Road back in 2021. Bielsa has been linked with a return to coaching across the globe, turning down jobs in his native country.

The Mail claims Bielsa has jetted into London to speak with the Toffees about becoming their new boss. Whites' supporters have differing views on whether he'll take the job and whether he'll be a success.
