Blackpool manager Michael Appleton has reinforced Leeds United loanee Ian Poveda's impressive performances off the bench for the Seasiders, claiming he's got a 'great chance to start the next game' against Hull City on Boxing Day.
After a short but good cameo against Birmingham City in a goalless draw, Poveda played the second half against Cardiff City, finding the assist to Gary Madine's equaliser to help his side to get a point away from home in a 1-1 stalemate.
The 22-year-old has made consistent substitute appearances throughout the first half of the season since leaving Elland Road on loan, but this is his first goal involvement with Blackpool.

Appleton was happy with what he's seen of Poveda so far this season and noted how if he wants more minutes, he needs to keep playing the way he is currently as he told Lancs Live.
"Just do what he’s doing at this moment in time. Ultimately I think his impact that he made in the Birmingham game in a positive way, you don’t forget some of the performances that some of the players who started the game put in and all of sudden, just throw someone in because he’s had a good 20 minutes or so.
"But the fact that he came on at half-time and took that responsibility and played as well as he did, what he has done is given himself a great chance to start the next game. If he does not start the next game, all he needs to do is when he gets called upon, make sure he keeps applying that pressure."
