Leeds United won't be hosting Nottingham Forest on Monday evening after the Premier League has taken the decision to postpone all of this weekend's fixtures following the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
The postponement could mean Jesse Marsch's men don't get a game for over a month if their game against Manchester United is also postponed, as the international break follows next weekend's round of fixtures. Leeds will be waiting for news of Queen Elizabeth's funeral, which is likely to determine when the club are back in action.
The postponement does though mean that Leeds players will have longer to recover from injuries and return to full fitness. Here is the full list of injuries that Leeds are currently soldiering and when they could possibly return to action.
Rodrigo - shoulder
Rodrigo suffered a discloated shoulder in Leeds' 1-1 draw against Everton which fans will hope won't derail his great start to the season after he scored four goals and grabbed an assists in the first five games. Manager Marsch remained hopeful though for the return of his main striker.
Marsch said (Sep 1): "An update on Rodrigo - when it pops out, it's about as good a case scenario as possible.
"That means that it doesn't need surgery and that hopefully in three to four weeks it can calm down. Maybe it takes a little bit longer, maybe it's a little bit shorter.
"We will see. He feels good, he feels confident that he will be ready fairly soon so we're kind of targeting after the international break."
Potential return date: 02/10/2022
Junior Firpo - knee
Having returned to training last week, Junior Firpo will be hoping to be back for Leeds' next league game whenever that might be. He suffered a knee injury in July's 4-0 pre-season win against Blackpool, with Pascal Struijk having filled in at left-baclk while the Dominican was injured.
Marsch said (Sep 1): "Junior Firpo, Luke Ayling, Liam Cooper, Patrick Bamford are all back. So, there are some decisions on exactly which guys are ready to go for the weekend but they're all training, looking healthy, looking strong and ready to go so that's a really good sign. next week.”
Potential return date: 18/09/2022
Stuart Dallas - leg
Stuart Dallas suffered a fractured femur after a 50/50 challenge with Manchester City winger Jack Grealish back in April's 4-0 loss and was ruled out for six months.
Marsch said (Aug 11): “Then Stuart Dallas, I saw on the pitch today, moving around a little bit. So that was an exciting moment for us.”
Potential return date: Unknown
