Leeds United will be using artificial intelligence next season in the hope of limiting the injuries they pick up. The Whites were one of the hardest hit for injuries in the Premier League last year and as a result they found themselves in a relegation battle at the foot of the table.
Although they were missing a handful of senior names, Jesse Marsch’s side managed to secure survival on the final day of the campaign and it seems they are taking action in order to prevent a similarly difficult season. United have signed up to use Zone7, an American company with an AI-driven human performance platform, designed to help athletes reduce the risk of injury.
Liverpool, Rangers and Valencia are amongst the most high profile football clubs already using Zone7, while the platform is also in use in the NFL and Premiership Rugby. Leeds will have chosen to adopt the system across the first-team coaching and medical departments in the hope of giving Marsch the best chance possible of maximising the talent within his squad.
