Leeds United fans have been reacting after their side came away with nothing from their clash against Newcastle United at Elland Road.
Jonjo Shelvey's free-kick was enough to settle an open game where the Whites allowed several dangerous opportunities to go to waste.
The Whites came into the game looking to pull further away from the relegation places after two wins in a row lifted them nine points clear of the bottom three. They were also given further encouragement after Everton lost to Aston Villa in the early kick-off, meaning the Whites could also move further ahead of the Toffees in 16th place.
Meanwhile, Newcastle came into the game in 19th place and were under further pressure after Norwich secured consecutive victories for the first time this season by beating Watford 3-0 at Vicarage Road on Friday night.
One thing that particularly drew the disappointment of Leeds fans was the response to Newcastle's goal. The Magpies have the worst record in the league when it comes to dropping points from winning positions but Marcelo Bielsa's side never really looked like equalising.
Fans took to Twitter to vent their frustrations, with the issue of strengthening in the January transfer window again being raised by several supporters...
@reecelufc1919 Bielsa got it wrong today #lufc
@craggsy82 Too many bad performers. Too many changes have caught up with us. Newcastle played it perfectly to be fair, we had no answers. #lufc
@V2Harris Have to get in the market for a central midfielder. Can't get away with playing a centre back in midfield all the time #lufc
@Zak_Allen No end product today. Raphinha put in countless quality crosses and no one on the end. Not convinced that James is effective up front. Tyler gives the ball away by running into an opposition player which leads to Newcastle free kick and goal #lufc
@Karamonkey1 Oh the joy and pain, ups and downs of supporting Leeds. Well done Newcastle. #lufc
@EthanFromOnline A 16th placed finish would be accurate for Leeds. You can cite injuries, but the reality is, the squad building has been poor, and everyone has injuries. #LUFC
Leeds now have a break from Premier League fixtures, as they face Aston Villa on Wednesday February 9 in their next fixture. They will hope to have some more of their injured players back available to face Steven Gerrard's side.
