Leeds star Dan James makes celebration declaration as he prepares for Man Utd reunion

Daniel James claims he won't have any problems celebrating if he nets for Leeds United against former side Manchester United.

The Welsh winger made the move from Old Trafford to Elland Road late in the summer transfer window.

Several players have famously crossed the divide over the years, with Eric Cantona and Alan Smith among the most high profile to do so.

He wore red in the season opener, a game in which the Red Devils beat their Yorkshire opponents 5-1.

James' has now changed allegiances and will be looking to bolster Leeds' bid to remain in the top flight.

The 24-year-old has scored four times this term and will celebrate in front of the home crowd if he scores on Sunday afternoon.

Who will come out on top out of Leeds and Man Utd on Sunday? Have your say in the comments!

He told the Times: "Will I celebrate if I score? Of course I do. I have no hatred towards Man United. I left on good terms.

"I still have a lot of friends there. It's a great feeling to score a goal. So of course I'll celebrate."

James recently notched a brace in the 3-3 draw with Aston Villa.

Leeds have been without Patrick Bamford for much of the season meaning others have had to fill in with Marcelo Bielsa tweaking his system.

James has been among those asked to take on more responsibility and played in last weekend's drubbing at Everton.

The Toffees ran out 3-0 winners with Leeds putting in a lacklustre display and their manager has delivered a frank assessment of his team and his Welsh recruit.

He said: "Like the team, he has had some good moments and some not so good. There was three games moreover than the results where the team showed a good level and in the last game that level dropped."

Bielsa has called on James to be more productive in the final third with the player himself far from prolific.

“We spoke about it the other day, I want to score more goals and get more assists, I have to keep believing and making those runs,” James told the club’s website recently.

“I’ve got two but I need to keep pushing and keep making the runs. The gaffer keeps telling me to get in these positions, so if you’re not there you don’t score."

Leeds currently sit in 15th - six points above Norwich City in 18th having played a game less.

However the Yorkshire side face a daunting week as they take on three of the Premier League's top eight. United are first up before they travel to Liverpool and then host Tottenham.
