A school in Leeds is taking action to help ease the pressure on families during the current cost of living crisis.
Bishop Young Church of England Academy, in Seacroft, has announced it will be assisting with the purchase of school uniform for new students from the next academic year.
All year seven students joining the school in September 2022 will receive both a free blazer and a free tie.

The school has decided to introduce the measure as many people are facing big increases in their energy bills and National Insurance contributions increase.
Bishop Young added that many families at the school are still coming to terms with the impact of Covid and may find it difficult to afford a full uniform when their children transition to high school.
Many parents across Yorkshire and nationwide say the price of school uniform can be a struggle. According to a report by the Children's Society, average costs for secondary school pupils can be over £300 a year.
Last year, one school uniform exchange in Yorkshire that provides cheap garments saw such a large increase in demand it had to warn parents it wouldn't be able to supply uniforms to everyone.

At Bishop Young, 62.3% of students are eligible for free school meals, far above the national average of 27.7%.
Head of School Rachael Cole said: “We are delighted to be able to provide uniform for our the Year 7 students who will be joining us in September and hope that this goes some way to helping out our families and gives them one less thing to worry about, as we appreciate that everyone is being adversely affected financially at the moment”.
