Leeds Rhinos prop Tom Holroyd has been tipped for a big 2023 after hitting the ground running during pre-season. The homegrown star made his first-team debut against Catalans Dragons in 2018 and is highly regarded at Headingley.
In 2021, he made 16 appearances, mostly off the bench, before an injury in pre-season ruled the forward out of the majority of the 2022 campaign. He was also handed a whopping 10-game ban after being dismissed while playing for Bradford Bulls in a Betfred Championship match against Newcastle Thunder.
Now, though, the England Knights star and former Siddal junior is now raring to go and has been impressing his team-mates at the club's Kirkstall training ground. Rhinos captain Kruise Leeming told Leeds Live: “I think Tom Holroyd is going to have a big year this coming season. I’ve just got a feeling because he’s come back in fantastic shape, so I'm confident he’s going to have a good year and really show what he’s all about.”

Holroyd has played 30 times for the Rhinos in the early stages of his career. Now 21, he has already played for England Knights and was offered a long-term contract last year, extending his time with the club until the end of 2025. He will face competition for places, with Justin Sangare and Sam Lisone arriving to add depth to Rohan Smith's front-row options.
