Leeds City Council has explained how its teams have managed to keep the bustling high streets immaculate. The local authority said it works in partnership with West Yorkshire Police and volunteers.
Crews are sent out to keep the streets clean 24 hours a day with the bulk of the sweeping work from 8pm until 8am. They also perform a range of other tasks like furniture washing, graffiti removal, litter-picking and litter bin emptying, among other important tasks.
A spokesperson for Leeds City Council said: “The city centre cleansing and enforcement team is a small team of dedicated and passionate officers who work as part of a wider partnership approach to ensuring the city centre is clean, safe and welcoming.
