Lee Grant has revealed that Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel was an inspiration for him growing up.
The 39-year-old signed for his boyhood club in 2018 and has made two appearances for the Reds after leaving Stoke City. Schmeichel enjoyed a highly successful career between the sticks, during his time at Old Trafford, he was a five-time Premier League winner as well as winner's medals in the Champions League and FA Cup.
With over 460 league appearances during his career between the sticks, he was named player of the year during stints with Burnley and Stoke. Grant also admitted former England goalkeeper David James was a role model during his formative years.

"Peter Schmeichel for most goalkeeper was a huge, huge hero of mine. Obviously supporting Manchester United, he was the one I looked to," he revealed to MUTV.
"He had so much character and personality that it was hard not be consumed by what he was doing at the time. One another note, David James I could really resonate with the career he was having."
