Why Indian Skin Responds Differently to Light
Indian skin produces more eumelanin, the dense, photoprotective pigment that sits in the epidermis and absorbs incoming light across a wide spectrum. That melanin is the reason Indian skin tans instead of burning, resists UV damage longer, and ages more slowly than Fitzpatrick I-II skin. It is also the reason LED therapy does not behave identically on brown skin as it does on the pale skin that dominated early photobiomodulation research.
