Bronny James’s anticipated USC debut marked another triumphant occasion for LeBron James and his family, a moment in time that will forever be near and dear to the Lakers superstar.
As previously announced, James, less than 24 hours from winning the In-Season Tournament MVP, was again front row and center to watch his eldest son compete. Further adding to the sentimentality of the afternoon was the fact that Sunday’s game also marked the freshman’s first action since suffering cardiac arrest in July.
Following the game, James made sure to encapsulate just how much the day meant courtesy of a heartfelt shout-out to Bronny on Instagram.
Wrote James, “Can’t even tell y’all how EMOTIONAL today was for me! I’m literally drained and all I can say is @bronny you’re simply INCREDIBLE!! Damn the wins and loses that will occur. You’ve already won the ultimate goal/championship and that’s LIFE!!! Proud of you kid and today you’ve given me more life! Thank you and I love you.”
With his first game now in the books, the 19-year-old James, as his famous father alluded to, can now revel in the achievement of working his way back before moving on with his career.
As for his play, James flashed his tantalizing potential for the Trojans in 16 minutes, with the 6-foot-4 guard even channeling his dad with a chase down block in the first quarter.
