A 31-year-old L-plater from NSW is facing multiple charges after allegedly drink-driving in south Canberra overnight.
An ACT Policing spokeswoman said the man was already subject to an arrest warrant for similar alleged offences.
The spokeswoman said police officers pulled over the man travelling in a white Toyota LandCruiser during a traffic stop in Gordon about 9.20pm on Friday, August 28.
It's alleged police checks revealed the 31-year-old, who was travelling alone in the vehicle, had allegedly breached traffic rules by being an unaccompanied learner driver.
The man is also accused of driving without displaying L plates on the vehicle.
Officers asked the man to undergo a roadside breath test during the traffic stop which allegedly showed a positive result.
Police say the man was then taken to Tuggeranong police station where additional testing allegedly revealed a blood-alcohol reading of 0.100.
The learner driver was subsequently arrested and charged with "driving a motor vehicle with alcohol in breath, learner driver unaccompanied, learner driver not displaying L plates as required, using unregistered vehicle and arrest warrant".
He is expected to face the ACT Magistrates Court on Saturday, August 29.
