It has been revealed that a minor wing mirror error could be the difference between having your car stolen or belongings rifled through by thieves.
This is because vehicles without folded in wingmirrors could indicate that a car is unlocked - with newer models of cars having automatically tucking mirrors when the vehicle is secured.
Convicted car thieves have spoken to researchers, to say how they look out for expensive models which have wing mirrors sticking out, marking their target accordingly.
