MUMBAI: Former India players Laxman Sivaramakrishnan, Nayan Mongia, Salil Ankola and Sameer Dighe are all set to apply for the national selectors' post, TOI has learnt. The name of former India fast bowler Ajit Agarkar was doing the rounds too, but it couldn't be confirmed for certain that he would apply for the post. Agarkar missed out narrowly in December 2020 to Abey Kuruvila as a national selector from the West Zone.
The 56-year-old Sivaramakrishnan, popularly known as 'Siva' or 'LS', played nin Tests and 16 ODIs, in which he took 41 wickets with his leg-spin. He missed out the last time as selector from South Zone to Sunil Joshi.
