Lauren Lyle’s performance as Karen Pirie has been one of the most enjoyable things on TV in recent times, playing a character who doesn’t exactly do things by the rule book – and don’t we just love watching that?
Lyle loves it too. In fact, the more extreme the role, the better. This year the Glasgow-born star was also in The Ridge (oh, and Toxic Town and The Bombing of Pan Am 103), playing a doctor with addiction issues travelling to New Zealand for her sister’s wedding, only to find her dead. Without giving away any spoilers, her character doesn’t take this calmly.
