Lauren Goodger is said to have agonised over whether she should take back her cheating ex-boyfriend Charles Drury, but was ultimately wooed over by him 'pulling out all the stops'.
The former TOWIE star, 35, who is pregnant with their second child, rekindled their romance last week and has been uploading Instagram snaps of her builder beau, 24, playing with their daughter LaRose, 10 months.
And a source close to the star said Charles has been really 'stepping his game up' in a bid to have his 'family unit back' after she discovered he had spent a night with another woman while they were on a break last year.
A source told New Magazine: "Charles has been pulling out all the stops and stepped his game up when it comes to being there for Lauren and Larose. He realises he made a mistake and he loves Lauren and wants his family unit back.
"Lauren was really defiant about the whole thing, she mulled over the idea of getting back with him for a long time.
"She was really strong about it. For her there was no going back, but he stepped up to the mark. She does love him and she likes the relationship they have."
The insider said it "wasn't an easy decision" to make, but Lauren has decided to forgive Charles for cheating on her after seeking advice from her family over the efforts he has made to win her back.
However, Charles is said to be on his last chance and Lauren is prepared to become a single mother if he slips up again.
Mirror Online has contacted Lauren's representatives for comment.
Lauren and Charles’ complicated romance hit a roadblock in January after the builder confessed he had slept with model Amy Gilbert.
However, his dalliance had occurred while he and Lauren had already split, with the television personality previously talking about her feelings of confusion over whether to proceed with her second pregnancy.
The former TOWIE star thought about the abortion after splitting from Charles and realising she'd be a single mum of two.
Admitting she considered a termination, Lauren told The Sun : "I was in two minds. I wasn’t sure of the right thing to do and was worried if all this would be fair on Larose.
"I didn’t want her to feel confused — she’s been my No1 and I would never want her to think that had changed. Plus, the situation with me and Charlie wasn’t great.
"Everybody said, 'Lauren, don’t go ahead — you’re fine with one child'. There was a lot to think about."
The television personality said she decided that becoming a single mother didn't scare her and having another child would be a 'lovely challenge'.
