Arsenal standout Kieran Tierney is being backed to land the captaincy for keeps after he earned the armband on Saturday.
Gunners fan and talkSPORT host Laura Woods is convinced the 24-year-old Scotland international is the perfect long-term option for Mikel Arteta's side.
Tierney was given the responsibility against Brentford after Alex Lacazette's substitution, with Granit Xhaka making clear the former Celtic star was next in line.
And Woods reckons now is the time to give the rampaging left-back the gig for good amid transfer links with Real Madrid.
Speaking on her talkSPORT breakfast show, he said: "At that period of time (when Tierney was out the team) I would maybe said Ramsdale, but I do think Tierney has definitely got the minerals."
But former Arsenal star Ray Parlour reckons passionate keeper Aaron Ramsdale would be his best choice... if he played outfield.
The Invincibles legend has been wowed by the resolute displays in defence and sees good times ahead if they can finish out the top four this season.
He said: "I would have said Ramsdale if we was a centre half, definitely. He's got that little bit of desire, hasn't he?
"I think the back four are a lot more resilient, they are a lot harder to break down, Ben White and Gabriel have got a really good partnership, Tomiyasu when he comes back in, he's a really good signing as well.
"If they don't get top four, we're back to square one again, the fourth place is wide open, Spurs, Arsenal, Manchester United, all the clubs have got a great opportunity.
"It's massive for a club like Arsenal, they're not in Europe, to get back into the Champions League, they could attract bigger players in the summer, because they need to sign a. couple of big players in the summer.
"It makes it a lot easier with the Champions League."
