Manchester City midfielder Laura Coombs has been named December's PFA Vertu Motors WSL Fans’ Player of the Month. Her form throughout the final month of 2022 saw her score two of her four-goal tally so far this season.
The 31-year-old found the net in back-to-back fixtures, sealing all three points against Brighton and Hove Albion - she completed the 3-1 victory with a tremendous attempt from outside the area right into the top corner. The strike has also been shortlisted for Barclays Women’s Super League’s Goal of the Month.
Her second came in the Manchester derby at the Etihad in front of over 44,000 fans a week later, redirecting Chloe Kelly’s cross with a header to find the equaliser.
