Former Love Island star Laura Anderson has opened up about her pregnancy and difficult relationship with her unborn baby’s father following their split earlier this year.
Anderson, 34, and ex-Hollyoaks actor Gary Lucy, 41, announced that they were expecting their first child together in February following a whirlwind romance after meeting on Celebs Go Dating last September.
Shortly after, she announced that they had split up and intended to co-parent, but they have since publically taken numerous pot shots at each other with Lucy even revealing the gender of the baby before Anderson was ready.
Despite this, as her due date draws nearer, Anderson has said in a new interview that he is “welcome” at the birth of his daughter.
“He’s currently in two minds so I’ve asked my mum as well, as you are allowed two birthing partners,” she told Notebook.
She has also confirmed that the pregnancy was planned.
“It was planned and it was both of our decisions,” she confirmed. “I always imagined having that traditional family set-up in my thirties.
“It was our first time trying. I called Gary and told him. His reaction was, ‘I told you!’ It was a shock. It took a while to really sink in, but we were happy. It was definitely a positive thing,” she added.
