The president of the Computer and Communications Industry Association, involved in this case, is lobbying for tech companies to be able to self-regulate as opposed to states being in charge. This potential change could dramatically alter the internet landscape. The lawsuit aims to uphold the First Amendment rights of websites to make editorial choices about content deemed appropriate for their communities.
