Lanarkshire star in making set to appear on BGT in musicals extravaganza

A Lanarkshire starlet has taken to one of the biggest stages in the country and is set to appear on Britain's Got Talent (BGT).

Katie Francis, 12, from Blantyre, who attends school in East Kilbride, will aim to wow the judges as part of the Movies to Musicals kids' cast ensemble.

She recently took part in live Movies to Musicals shows and hopes to impress judges Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and David Walliams in tonight's audition episode.

Producer of Movies to Musicals Ross Gunning said: "We were involved in BGT this year and are on Saturday's show.

"Made up of 23 young incredibly talented performers from all over Scotland, the kids performed on the stage of the London Palladium.

"I am extremely excited that these outstanding young performers are getting seen on one of the biggest stages in the country, on one of the biggest programmes.

"Being one of the only Scottish acts on BGT this year is amazing and I can't wait for everyone to see the talent we can produce in this country."

Tune in to BGT tonight at 8pm on ITV to see Katie in action and whether Movies to Musicals progress further.
