Village School of Music (VSOM) students thrilled audiences with everything from Tchaikovsky to Lewis Capaldi as their annual summer showcase returned post-pandemic.
Performances came from the RockClub, VSOM’s mixed instrument rock band for 14-19 year olds, RockStarz, their mixed instrument rock band for 8-13 year olds and FiddleClub.
Highlights included Erin Sibbald’s electrifying solo piano performance of Chilly Gonzales’ ‘Evolving Doors’ and seven-year-old Charlotte Dyers’ first ever solo guitar performance playing Ed Sheeran’s ‘Bad Habit’ and Lewis Capalidi hit ‘Someone You Loved’.
And RockClub, featuring Freya Talbot (vocals), Keira Bogachev (bass) and Matthew Duncan (drums) brought the house down with four back-to-back rock classics from Queen, The Beach Boys, Blondie and Elvis for the showstopping finale.
Directors Jamie and Lucy Finn said: “Each and every concert we are blown away with how much the students grow as musicians – it’s a real honour to be part of their musical journey.”
The Village School of Music is East Kilbride’s longest running music school with a team of 15 professional music tutors teaching 10 different instruments.
They have one-to-one and group lessons to suit complete beginners to advanced players of any age.
