The MP for East Kilbride and Strathaven is urging those facing passport misery to get in touch.
Dr Lisa Cameron, who has dealt with over 150 passport cases this month alone, is asking constituents facing passport application issues, when the application has been made more than 10 weeks ago, to reach out.
The Home Office is currently attributing most of the delays on a sudden increase in applications over the summer months.
However a large number of constituents in East Kilbride are being hit by the situation, with many feeling that the rise in applications was going to happen ahead of the summer break, with a significant majority of those travelling on their first holiday post-pandemic.
This situation denies a significant number of people within East Kilbride their holidays– costing them thousands of pounds in lost hotel and flight bookings, but in addition.
It also places unnecessary restriction on across the local community people from travelling for work purposes.
Ms Cameron told Lanarkshire Live: "“In recent weeks, I have had over 150 constituents get in touch with me regarding their delayed passports.
"Members of Parliament are able to check the progress of applications and contact the passport office on your behalf.
"If your passport has been delayed and it is now outside the service standard, I may be able to assist. Please do get in touch with me directly."
On top of issues with passports, travellers have also been facing flight cancellations with thousands of flights binned as airports and airlines struggle to meet demand due to staff shortages and industrial action.
