BENGALURU: With Paris Olympics a little over eight weeks away, ace shuttler Lakshya Sen is in the final leg of his preparations. The man from Almora, who will feature in the Singapore Open starting next Tuesday, has been working on various aspects of his game, including fitness. In the lead up to the Games, Lakshya, who trains at the Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy here, will undergo a 12-day training stint in France in July.
With the men's singles wearing an open look, it could be anyone's game at Paris. However, Lakshya's coach Vimal Kumar remains positive about the PPBA shuttler's chances. "If Lakshya plays to his potential in Paris (Olympics), he will be a strong contender because I don't see the top 20 players being that consistent.
