KOLKATA: The father of Souryadeep Chatterjee (14) — one of the two South Point High School students who drowned at the Rabindra Sarobar while practising rowing two weeks ago — has registered an FIR against unknown persons in South Point High School and Lake Club for their alleged negligence leading to his son’s death.
“Several questions are bothering me: what safety measures were in place and what protocols were followed which couldn’t save a 14-year-old practising under their responsibility and care? I need answers and authorities can’t duck responsibility,” said Souvik Chatterjee, Souryadeep’s father. Souryadeep and Pushan Sadhukhan (14) were caught in wild waters during a squall on May 21 when their boat capsized. While three others in the boat survived, Souryadeep and Sadhukhan, who were advised to swim ashore by the Cox, drowned.
