Princess Diana ’s niece opted not to wear the family’s tiara on her wedding day because of “painful memories”, according to an expert.

Lady Kitty Spencer wed Michael Lewis in Italy earlier this year in a lavish ceremony in Italy.

At the time some were confused why she did not wear the Spencer Tiara to complete her look as Princess Diana had in 1981 when she married the then Prince Charles.
