British billionaire Alan Howard married celebrity chef Caroline Byron at a stunning Italian wedding as Lady Gaga serenaded the newlyweds and their hundreds of guests.
The star-studded black-tie bash at Villa Olmo in Como, Italy, saw the couple pay over £1m to close the mega 18th-century lakeside mansion for a month.
Their demand that was area was totally shut off ahead of their big day ticked off locals but they shrugged off the criticism to put on an ultimate party.
Annoyed residents were treated to an enormous fireworks display at the end of the night on the shores of Lake Como.
The money they paid to make it the venue their own for a few weeks hardly made a dent in the overall bill, with the wedding costing over £10m.
The amount was a drop in the ocean with hedge fund manager, 59, worth around £1.5billion according to Forbes' rich list.
Caroline, 33, wore a flowing white gown with a cathedral style veil while her husband was seen wearing a traditional black suit for the occasion.
A guestlist included singer Pixie Lott and her new husband Oliver Cheshire.
They enjoyed the Jewish ceremony beneath a chuppah covered in white flowers. Superstar Lady Gaga then performed before a hugh firework display saw the evening end in style.
Her set-list included hit song Shallow from the Academy Award-winning film A Star Is Born
The couple, who welcomed a child in May, first tied the knot during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Mr Howard has four children with his ex-wife Sabine, whom he divorced in 2015.
One expert predicted the flowers alone could have set them back £500,000.
That makes the incredible entertainment decent value at around £2m, according to Chris Driver-Ayre, managing director at AYRE Event Solutions.
"A named performer could cost anywhere between £80,000 and £1.2 million," he said.
"Someone like Lady Gaga will be commanding a high range, although, given she may be a close friend of Pixie Lott, she may have done it for free gratis. But there still would have been a big tech rider which could have been in the range of £10,000 - £20,000.
"'Fireworks for weddings can be extravagant, going from anywhere between £5,000 for 10 minutes to well over £40,000," he told MailOnline.
The make-over would have also set them back a big sum, redecorating the already incredible garden with a flower massive arch.
In her book Gluten-Free Naturally, the chef has opened up about her health struggles after she contracted Lyme Disease as a child.
“While this didn’t stop her forging a successful modelling career and retraining as a chef, Caroline became increasingly frustrated by these health issues,” the description of the book says.
“She decided to completely overhaul her diet and go gluten-free. The change in her health was astonishing.”
They can certainly afford to spend big on their wedding.
In 2014, the tycoon was ranked 53rd on the UK's Sunday Times Rich List.
The European hedge fund company is a world leader and specialises in macro trading.
