There wasn’t a ton of optimism heading into the week that a Los Angeles Chargers team missing their top two tackles and with an injured quarterback were going to be much of a match for the Kansas City Chiefs, but thanks to some solid play from rookie receiver Ladd McKonkey, and a great showing by the teams defense, it was much closer than expected.
Ladd McConkey & Justin Herbert may be the throw and catch of the year so far.

McConkey found plenty of success through the air operating as the teams top target. On the day, McConkey hauled in 5 catches for 67 yards and an impressive touchdown catch in the red zone. It’s refreshing to see the young receiver start to break through after questions about this entire group of pass catchers and what they could provide for Justin Herbert after losing his previous top two targets this offseason.

With a bye week incoming the Los Angeles Chargers will get a chance to rest and return their injured players, and with the recent breakout of McConkey they should be in a good position to show off quite the potent offense come week 6 of the regular season.
