The task of dealing with the legacy of the Troubles in Northern Ireland has been avoided due to lack of will, the retired judge who will head a new information recovery commission has said.
Former lord chief justice for Northern Ireland Sir Declan Morgan also said that the Government’s controversial legacy proposals have had a “very unfortunate start” and added that some Conservative MPs have continued to focus on how the legislation would benefit military veterans.
