Cincinnati Bengals right tackle La’el Collins again has an injury concern of note as the team preps for Week 3 against the New York Jets.
Collins popped up on the injury report as “out” for Wednesday’s practice with a listed back injury.
Linebacker Germaine Pratt and tight end Drew Sample were also out, with Sample needing surgery that could end his season.
Collins’ injury is a major concern for the Bengals considering how much he’s appeared to struggle over the team’s 0-2 start. And that came after he missed most of training camp with what was also listed as a back issue.
While this could just go down in hindsight as a veteran rest day, it’s concerning to see the back listed as the reason again. Should Collins need to miss time or snaps, D’Ante Smith is the backup swing tackle with Hakeem Adeniji behind him.
