Saturday will mark the beginning of Liverpool's 2023/24 pre-season as Jurgen Klopp and some of his players reconvene at the AXA Training Centre.
After falling to a fifth-place finish in the Premier League last term, the Reds boss will have spent his summer months plotting a return to the Champions League. His efforts to do so have been aided by the signings of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai for a combined fee of £95m.
But despite the two signings already, Liverpool's summer business might not be done yet if reports are to be believed. In recent days, the Reds have been linked with a stunning move for Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe, while a deal for Southampton's Romeo Lavia is currently being weighed up by Anfield officials.
Here is the latest round-up of transfer news surrounding the Reds...

Liverpool launch '€200m' bid for Kylian Mbappe
According to reports in the Spanish media, Liverpool have launched a €200m bid for Paris Saint-Germain and France superstar Kylian Mbappe. The Frenchman, who is the Parisians' all-time top goal-scorer, has long been tentatively linked with a move to Merseyside and even revealed in an interview with The Telegraph last year that he had held talks with the Reds during his time at AS Monaco.
Speaking on El Chiringuito TV earlier this week, journalist Edu Aguirre made the remarkable claim that the Reds have launched an audacious bid to make the 24-year-old their third signing of the summer.
“What has occurred, in the last few hours, in the offices of PSG is that an offer from Liverpool has arrived,” said Aguirre. “Liverpool have entered the scene, Liverpool have made a €200m offer for Mbappé. The offer from Liverpool that has arrived in the last few hours in the offices of PSG is of €200m. Al-Khelaifi has put Mbappé up for sale.”
Mbappe has 12 months remaining on his current deal at the Parc des Prince it is heavily speculated that he will leave the Ligue 1 champions either this summer or next.
PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi recently dropped a hint on next steps - indicating a free transfer exit at the end of the season was not on the agenda, with a move this summer seemingly more likely. He said: "Our position is very clear. If Kylian Mbappe wants to stay - we want him to stay - he needs to sign a new contract. We cannot let the best player in the world right now leave for free. That is impossible."
Romeo Lavia eyed by Liverpool
Southampton are said to be confident that their £50m valuation of 19-year-old holding midfielder Romeo Lavia will be met this summer.
The Belgium international made the move to St Mary's from Manchester City last summer and was one of the few positives from a disastrous campaign on the South Coast. Pep Guardiola's side have a buy-back option on Lavia however that does not come into play until the summer of 2024.
According to Sky Sports, "there would need to be a significant dent in Southampton's asking price for the Belgium international, who would also need to make clear Anfield is his destination of choice".
As reported by the ECHO earlier this week, Lavia is under consideration by the powers that be at Anfield and a third midfield addition is still a "possibility".
Luke Chamber 'attracting' interest from Xabi Alonso in Bundesliga
In terms of departures this summer, Luke Chambers could be set for a stunning switch to the Bundesliga with former Reds midfielder Xabi Alonso reportedly interested in taking the 19-year-old defender to Bayer Leverkusen.
Chambers, a left-back who can also play as a centre-back, spent the second half of last season on loan at Scottish Premiership side Kilmarnock and helped Derek McInnes' side avoid relegation.
The Athletic claim that everkusen have "shown interested" in the defender, while Watford and Sheffield Wednesday are also said to be possible destinations.
