Fuming Kylian Mbappe reportedly believes the Paris Saint-Germain hierarchy bombed in the summer transfer window after failing to recruit in one key area.
After appointing Christophe Galtier's as the Ligue 1 giants’ new boss in the summer, the Ligue 1 champions were willing to splash the cash to bring in a host of new talent with an €147 million recruitment drive. Their most expensive signing of the summer came in the form of Vitinha, who moved from Porto to PSG for €41.5million, with Hugo Ekitike, Nuno Mendes, Renato Sanches, Nordi Mukiele, Carlos Soler, and Fabian Ruiz also all arriving at the Champions League hopefuls.
However, reports suggest Mbappe is unsatisfied with the business having failed to add a "world class number nine" to play alongside him up front. PSG ’s sporting adviser Luis Campos believed that the summer window was a failure – and RMC Sport claim Mbappe shares that view.
Mbappe hasn't been shy on voicing his opinions on the inner workings of the French champions. During the international break he claimed he had "lots more freedom" when playing for France in contrast to when playing at club level.
Boss Galtier responded to the assertion made during the Nations League triple header. He responded by stating: “His analysis is fair. He isn’t in the same configuration here as he is with the French national team. It is a conversation I had with him during the pre-season and one that I also had with the president and Luis Campos.”
