Kylian Mbappe has silenced talk over a move to Liverpool having reaffirmed his commitment to Paris Saint-Germain.
The French forward has regularly been linked with a switch to Anfield - particularly during the summer as his contract at the Parc des Princes ticked down. Spanish giants Real Madrid were also pushing to sign Mbappe only to see him commit to a new contract with PSG.
The 23-year-old penned a lucrative three-year deal in the French capital but that has not silenced reports that he could still move on sooner rather than later as he aims to add the Champions League to his already-bloated trophy cabinet.
Despite that, Mbappe himself has claimed that he can reach his targets with his current employers and does not need to seek opportunities elsewhere. Speaking with Sports Illustrated, the Frenchman said: “You can stay here [PSG] to have success.
“For us it’s a big message, because when I announced I stay, a lot of things change in the mentality of people. People start to say, ‘Yeah, we don’t need to go out. You don’t need to leave the country.’ ”
Mbappe joined PSG initially on-loan from Ligue 1 rivals Monaco back in the summer of 2017. The Paris-born forward has gone on to make 236 appearances for the club since, winning four Ligue 1 titles, three French Cups and two League Cups.

He has continued to wax lyrical about his current employers and explained exactly why he decided to turn down a move to Real Madrid in the summer.
“I’m not scared. I’m ready,” he continued. “I always talk about my ambition, what I want to do, and now it’s time.
“In Paris, the book is fully white. What an opportunity! You have to think differently. Of course, it was easier to go to Madrid. But I have this ambition. I’m French. I’m a child of Paris, and to win in Paris, it’s something really special—really special. It writes your name in the history of your country for life.”
Whilst a move to Liverpool appears off the cards for the time being, Mbappe has actually confirmed that he held talks over a switch to Anfield in the past.
Speaking earlier this year, he said: “We talked a little bit, but not too much. We talked a little bit. I talked to Liverpool because it’s the favourite club of my mum, my mum loves Liverpool. I don’t know why, you will have to ask her!
“It’s a good club and we met them five years ago. When I was in Monaco I met them. It’s a big club.”
