Kyler Murray has ‘come a long way’ with hamstring injury

The Arizona Cardinals weren’t sure at the start of the week who would be their starting quarterback this coming Monday night when they face the San Francisco 49ers in Mexico City. Kyler Murray is dealing with a hamstring injury that kept him out of Week 10 and his backup, Colt McCoy, who started in Week 10, suffered a knee injury in the game.

Murray is moving toward potentially starting.

Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury told reporters after practice Friday that Murray was “progressing” and has “come a long way” in getting the leg right.

He added, “I think playing on Monday night will help — the extra day — so we’ll see how he feels.”

When the final injury report comes out Saturday, he will likely be listed as questionable and Kingsbury would probably call him a game-time decision.
