After a failed attempt in 2024, Kyle Larson is coming back in 2025 hungrier than ever as he seeks to finally become the fifth driver (and the first since 2014) to complete 'The Double' by running the Indianapolis 500 and the Coca-Cola 600 on the same day.
Larson will pilot his usual No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet at Charlotte while driving the No. 17 Chevrolet at Indy, which is being fielded in a partnership between Hendrick and Arrow-McLaren. Last year, Larson ran strong at Indy before a late-race speeding penalty left him with an 18th-place finish. At Charlotte, he never got to actually compete due to rain delaying the Indy 500. Justin Allgaier drove the No. 5 in his place with Larson planning to take over mid-race, only to have the same rain that impacted Indy earlier in the day to arrive and end NASCAR's (not quite) 600-miler before he ever got the chance.
