Kunal Kamra row: Comedian claims he received 500 calls and death threats over Eknath Shinde joke

Comedian Kunal Kamra has shared an update on the ongoing controversy, surrounding his remarks aimed at Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. The comedian has alleged that since his number was shared online, he has received over 500 calls, including some death threats.

According to a report by NDTV, several callers have issued violent threats to the funnyman, with some allegedly warning to kill him and "cut him into pieces" for his remaks against the politician. The threats began following the controversy that erupted following his performance at a comedy club in Mumbai’s Khar area, where he seemingly mocked Shinde by altering the lyrics of the Bollywood film Dil Toh Pagal Hai.
