KSI backed to "smoke" Tommy Fury as YouTube star targets bout with Love Islander

Derek Chisora believes YouTube star KSI would "smoke" professional boxer Tommy Fury if the pair agree to a meeting.

YouTube star KSI - real name JJ Olatunji - made his ring return last night, stopping both rapper Swarmz and professional fighter Luis Alcaraz Pineda. After both men failed to provide a stern test of KSI's credentials, the social media star is eyeing tougher opposition in his next outing in January.

KSI named Fury on his hit-list for his next showdown which also included YouTube star Slim Albaher and controversial former kickboxer Andrew Tate. Despite Fury's experience in boxing, heavyweight star Chisora believes KSI would defeat Fury, but does not expect the former Love Islander to accept the fight.

“I’d like to see that, one hundred per cent, let’s make that happen,” said Chisora when discussing the possibility of Olatunji and Fury facing in an interview with Boxing Social. "What’s Tommy Fury done in the last two years? Nothing. KSI. Smoke him. You know, Tommy Fury will not fight KSI because he knows if he loses to KSI the traveller community will never ever respect him and KSI will knock him out."

Fury has yet to fight since competing on the undercard of his brother Tyson's heavyweight title defence against Dillian Whyte in April. The former reality TV star signed his contract to face KSI's long-term rival Jake Paul earlier this month but was prevented from entering the US which saw the fight shelved.

Fury issued an ominous response when called out by KSI last night, tweeting: "You know where to find me". The brother of heavyweight champion Tyson has eight professional victories but has barely been tested against limited opposition.

Without any concrete plan scheduled for Fury's next outing, KSI promoter Kalle Sauerland will likely see it as an opportunity for a huge UK fight next year. However Sauerland even admitted that Fury was a late option for Olatunji last night, but was unable to realistically accept the call at short notice.

"We didn't approach him but we were thinking about it before we went down the two fight route," he said. "We were thinking about putting the feelers out there but we understood he wasn't in the right physical shape to come in on shorter notice which is fair enough. But yeah why not in the future?"
