Two men and a teenage boy have been charged with the murder of a popular DJ whose body was found dumped in Essex woodland.
Koray Alpergin, 43, owner of Turkish station Bizim FM, was abducted from an address in Ebony Crescent, Enfield alongside a woman in her 30s, believed to be his girlfriend.
Essex Police were alerted to Mr Alpergin’s body near the Oakwood Hill Industrial Estate in Loughton about 11.55am on Saturday.
A post-mortem found Mr Alpergin died from severe trauma with more tests taking place.
Erdogan Ulcay, 55, of Oakeshott Avenue, Camden, Ali Kavak, 25, of De Quincey Road, Tottenham, and a 17-year-old boy were charged with his murder and the kidnap of a woman.
The woman was found unharmed.
All three will appear in custody at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.
Police had received the report at 1.50pm on Friday that the pair were missing from an address in Ebony Crescent, Enfield and had not been seen since the night before. They were known to each other.
A friend visiting the scene of the abduction at an exclusive development told the Standard: “I have known him for 16 years. He was taken and killed, it’s so sad.
“It’s such a quiet area, if it could happen here it could happen anywhere.
“His parents are doing very badly. He was an amazing man, unbelievable. He set up his own radio stations and was such a talented DJ.
“He was so strong and was always helping everyone.
“His girlfriend had just come over from Turkey to visit him.”
Detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command said they were continuing to support Mr Alpergin’s family.
