Kolkata: Nabadiganta Industrial Township Authority plans to clean Sector V vacant plots

KOLKATA: Nabadiganta Industrial Township Authority (NDITA) plans to clean and beautify some of the vacant plots adjacent to IT buildings in Sector V to prevent breeding of mosquitoes and improve hygiene and cleanliness during monsoon.

The authorities also plan to take up beautification work surrounding the Sector V Ring Road, as well as relay the damaged pavement off Salt Lake-Bypass and Ring Road.

The five vacant plots identified for clean-up are beside hotel Monotel and IIHM on Street No. 13, a plot opposite Benfed on Street No. 9 and two plots on Street No. 18. “The vacant plots need cleaning, not only to prevent breeding of mosquito after rains, but also to maintain overall public health,” said Arkadeep Majumder, an IT professional.

“Keeping the dengue menace in mind, the plots will be cleaned and the long grass will be trimmed,” said an NDITA official. Authorities also plan to set up an embankment and a pathway along the water body near 201 bus stand.
