Kneecap send ‘farewell’ jibe to Starmer on social media following his resignation

  • Irish rap trio Kneecap marked Sir Keir Starmer 's resignation with a pointed "farewell" video in Irish, posted hours after the Prime Minister addressed the nation.
  • The video, captioned "Slán Keir," mocked Sir Keir's time in office by juxtaposing clips of him criticising the band with footage of their performances, including chants of "f*** Keir Starmer."
  • Sir Keir's original remarks against Kneecap stemmed from a terror charge against band member Mo Chara for displaying a Hezbollah flag, a charge that was later dismissed as "instituted unlawfully."
  • Known for their politically charged music, Kneecap frequently incorporates "Free Palestine" chants into their live shows.
