KOLKATA: The Kolkata Municipal Corporation buildings department will issue notice to the owners of 10 residential buildings on Durga Pithuri Lane, asking them to vacate their houses as it has been found in a survey, conducted by experts, that these buildings cannot be repaired.
These buildings are included in the list of 27 buildings that have been earmarked as “vulnerable” by a team of experts from Jadavpur University after the subsidence occurred on Durga Pithuri Lane. However, a subsequent study by the JU experts found that among the vulnerable buildings, the conditions of 10 had become so bad that demolition would be the only solution.
