Kirkcudbright will crown a prince for the first time this summer.
P7 pupils and teachers at the town’s primary school chose Adam Gourlay to take on the role, with Ashley Jamieson and Kayley McCormick as attendants.
Kirkcudbright Summer Festivities first held a competition to choose Miss Kirkcudbright 52 years ago and more recently has been represented by a summer princess, but is now getting set for its first prince.
