Kirkcudbright girl achieves highest award for a Brownie

A Kirkcudbright girl has recently achieved the highest award for a Brownie.

Ten-year-old Lucy Mitchell, who attends Kirkcudbright Primary, has been in the Brownies for nearly three years and has now completed her gold award.

She has completed six different categories over 18 interest badges and is a very dedicated, determined and diligent Brownie.

Brownie leader and Stewartry District Commissioner, Rebecca Vasey, said Lucy was a brilliant role model to new Brownies and a shining example to everyone in Girl Guiding.

She is now set to make her transition to the guides unit in Kirkcudbright, which meets each Monday evening at Kirkcudbright Scout Hall.
