Kirk Herbstreit to leave ESPN’s ‘College GameDay’ early in Week 7

ESPN’s “College GameDay” crew is set to head to Eugene, Oregon, to see the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes play the No. 3 Oregon Ducks, but one of their members won’t be there for the whole day.

Kirk Herbstreit will be leaving early from College GameDay to broadcast the game between the No. 1 Texas Longhorns and No. 18 Oklahoma Sooners. He’ll be alongside Chris Fowler as color commentator for the Red River Rivalry.

The game starts at 3:30 p.m. ET, and given the flight to Eugene, Oregon, to Dallas, Texas, is about three and a half hours, he’ll have to leave early from College GameDay about an hour early.

Herbstreit and the rest of College GameDay have logged a ton of flight miles this year, heating from Ireland to Texas to Michigan and eventually to Oregon. They’ll more than likely be heading down south again in Week 8, to either attend the Georgia-Texas matchup or the Alabama-Tennessee matchup.
